Q&A Home > B > Holy Bible > Bible Versions I work in a multimedia book shop organized by Roman Catholic Sisters. Copts and Orthodox Priests come regularly for material for their own studies. I am Orthodox myself from Eritrea. The Sisters advise the Jerusalem Bible. A deacon recently told me that the Jerusalem Bible is not very accurate. Shall I buy a King James version? I am content with the Bible I have now, but if it's not the right translation, it's necessary to get the right one. I recommend the Orthodox Study Bible. The Douay-Rheims Bible based on St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate is also a good edition and includes the Second Canonical Books. The Jerusalem Bible likewise provides all of the texts unrepresented in the New King James Version and is a close translation from the original Hebrew and Greek.
