In my medical school class, they showed us a video on 'intersex' gender and people born with genital abnormalities and are not sure what gender they are, etc. What is the biblical view on this? Are they considered sinful if they change their gender in adulthood? Does it relate to Matthew 19 when our Lord talked about being 'eunuchs' not by choice (as these people are all infertile)?

The medical community generally advocates maintaining the dominant gender in the rare cases of Disorder of Sex Development (DSD), also know as the hermaphrodite anomaly. Various treatments, which could include surgical procedures and/or a medicinal regime, are considered in order to preserve the psychosexual identity of the individual born with this form of congenital defect. Parental consent is necessary. Most parents will choose to designate one gender for their child via a surgical procedure while the child is still young. If sexual ambiguity was not detected early in life, or if the parents did not take any action on behalf of their child in the early years, it is not considered a sin if the adult sustaining this form of gender anomaly from birth decides to have surgical procedures or uses other medical treatments in the future. Eunuchs are not hermaphrodites but had either been castrated or were born with this form of abnormality. Eunuchs are infertile. Potential for fertility for individuals with DSD may be possible with various appropriate medical interventions.
