Dr. Alistar McGrath is a famous atheist-turned-Christian in England. He discusses the view, which goes back as far as Origen, that the Adam and Eve story was intended to relate a theological truth more than a historical (

).
What if Adam had not listened to Eve when she had asked him to eat from the tree?
Why did God create Adam and Eve knowing that they would sin. I have asked this many times only to hear that God did it out of love. Not sure how this truly makes sense because, to me, creating people knowing they would have to suffer because they make a mistake that He knew they would be decided by the serpent means that there is no presence of love. It is very contradictory to say all of this happened because of His love for humans. In this case, coming down from heaven and dying for us is not the sacrifice we all seem to think because it could have been avoided because He is all-knowing.
Why was Adam born first? Why was it not Eve first? Why was Eve made from the side of Adam?
