I started a new job and met this man there. We started talking and everything was going very well. I could not believe it because I have always had the worst luck when it comes to dating and meeting people. To me, meeting him and getting to know him was a like a blessing. After a while, I discovered that he was almost 10 years younger than me. He does not think it is a problem but I do but I do not really know what to do. This is just so unfair. I am having a hard time walking away from what seemed to be finally the perfect man for me.

This age difference with the woman being older is not recommended at all. There are too many issues that arise post-marriage. One is having children and the difference in a woman's biology than in a man's. He can wait longer than you to begin a family. Another issue is appearance. This is not being superficial, and may not matter now. Though you many not think it is an issue, things change when your age starts to show much earlier than his. Your energies will also differ and so will your interests. Your friends will certainly be different. Another factor is maturity. Furthermore, in your situation, you would also need to deal with cultural issues and religious affiliation and conversion. With this age difference of almost one decade, you are likely, but not known for sure, to be more educated and more financially stable. It is not a matter of fairness. Marriage is a serious matter and requires making thoughtful decisions, and avoiding impulsive, emotionally-driven attachments. When choosing a mate for life and committing to the vows in the Holy Mystery of Matrimony, you must be very clear that this union is established on a solid foundation. For all the reasons mentioned, pursuing a relationship with this age difference of you being older is simply not a good fit for you and cannot be advised to continue.
