Q&A Home > C > Holy Book of 1 Corinthians 1 Corinthians 15:24 says the Son will deliver the kingdom to the Father (which from what I could gather from His Grace's Bible study means the end of the Son's kingdom which began on the day of the crucifixion), but in the Creed, we say His kingdom shall have no end." I am having trouble rectifying these two ideas. Please explain. There are two kingdoms: the kingdom of the Son and the kingdom of the Father. Christ's kingdom started on the day of His crucifixion, "The Lord reigned on a wood," (Psalm 95:10). Thus, we are now living in the millennia (Revelation 20:4-7), which is the kingdom of Christ. We read in Colossians that God (the Father) "has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love" (Colossians 1:13). That is why we say to the Father in the Lord's Prayer, "Our Father... Thy kingdom come." Therefore, we are speaking of another kingdom to come. At the end of the world, the Son will deliver His kingdom to the Father. Christ will continue to reign until there is an end to all rule and all authority and power. That will be at "the end" of the world, on the Last Day, during the general resurrection, at which time no authority or power can stand in God's presence. When the Creed says, "whose kingdom shall have no end," this statement refers to Christ's Second Coming to judge the world. In the Triunity of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit will reign forever, "And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb...And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him" (Revelations 22:1,3). This is kingdom of God. When the Son delivers the kingdom, this will not end His kingdom, but He will reign with His Father and Their kingdom has no end.
