Q&A Home > O > Orthodox Church > Attending Different Churches I am a Coptic convert in a Protestant household. My family is considering moving to another state where there is only one Coptic Orthodox Church. If we end up moving and I am unable to go to a Coptic church, is it acceptable to attend another Orthodox church. I know we are not in communion with the Eastern Orthodox church, but that may be my only option. If it is at all possible, try to attend at a Coptic church biweekly or monthly, even if you need to stay in a hotel overnight. In the meantime, you may attend a local church. Even if you are allowed to partake of Communion in an Eastern Orthodox or Catholic church, you should still make your best effort to go to your church as often as possible.
