Home > Search Q&A I got into a discussion with someone about abortions and how the Church does not allow it unless the mother's health is in danger, but what about rape victims? That is going to take a huge physical and mental toll on the mother-to-be. Would the Church consider this abortion since it was not consensual? We strongly empathize with any woman in this difficult situation, but two wrongs do not make a right. According to the Holy Scripture, abortion is murder. Adoption is the best option for someone who was raped and impregnated. Do not think that aborting an unwanted pregnancy is a solution that will somehow make a rape survivor feel better in some way. Rather, choosing to give life by either keeping the innocent child or considering giving the child up for adoption is more empowering because it is the right action before God who allowed the formation of this child (read Psalm 139).
