Q&A Home > C > Counseling My therapist believes in a “higher being” only. I would like to help her understand Christianity. Do you think it is worth trying? Therapists should not impose their personal non professional beliefs and opinions in a therapy session. For their clients' benefit they can encourage compliance with a treatment plan; but beyond this, personal discussions related to the therapists themselves ought to be very limited.
Following a therapy session, perhaps, if you would like to share your Coptic faith with the therapist, you may give her a booklet on the Coptic Church or download from a website materials regarding the Coptic Church. You may tell the therapist that by reading the materials shared, you will be better understood from a spiritual perspective.
It should be well remembered that counseling is a good beginning but continuous confession and revealing our thoughts to our confession father is also a must.
A good Holy Bible verse to always remember is "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind" (Matthew 22:37).
Not only you, but everyone must strive to live a careful life following what the Holy Bible teaches.
