  It appears as though this came in to the Holy Bible through a translation of the Vulgate, however, not the original one by St. Jerome, but rather, it was added later by a man named Erasmus. Is this true, or have I stumbled on an undependable source?
• It has also been noted that the early fathers of the church do not quote this verse as it is. Do you know of any church father (preferably before the 16th century as this is the approximate time in which the verse at question was allegedly placed into the bible) who quotes this verse in his writings? 
• Supposing that this verse is not original (as I cannot find it in either Greek nor Coptic translations), why is it that the church includes it in the lectionary of the Feast of the Theophany?
