Q&A Home > C > Christian Faith St Cyril defines a Christian as someone who confesses and believes the dogmas of the Creed. What is the status of the churches and denominations that confess the Creed but are not catholic nor apostolic? At the time when St. Cyril defined the Christian faith, the many denominations that we have today did not exist. However, we consider every church who believes and adopts the Creed as their proclamation of faith, a Christian church and not a cult. This does not necessarily mean that we agree on all their other dogmas like for example the Immaculate Conception, or the purgatory, or the salvation in a moment, among many others.
