Because the Coptic Church uses the Julian Calendar, is this why the feast of the Nativity is celebrated on Jan 7th? Is this because it is the original calendar, which was invented by Julius Caesar, but used by the Church and declared by the 1st Ecumenical Council?
Regarding the Coptic Calendar, why does the Coptic Church keep a calendar that seems to promote false gods? Is this to simply be part of one's past history as an Egyptian? Of course, I know better than to think that the Coptic Church believes in false gods, but I think this could potentially confuse people who are looking into the Coptic Orthodox Faith.
Was Jesus really born in 4 B.C.? What does it mean by A.D. (is it after Christ?)
Why do Copts celebrate Christmas and Easter on different days than other Christians?
Why does the Orthodox Church still follow the Julian calendar today? I was reading a few articles online and it said the Gregorian calendar is a more accurate version of the Julian calendar. So why do we choose to follow the Julian calendar rather than the Gregorian one?
