• I asked around in church regarding the "daughters of men" and the "sons of God" part in Genesis chapter 6, and I received the same general reply from everyone, that the sons of God were God's people and the daughters of men were not. How can this be, when this chapter is directly following Noah's flood?
• In Genesis chapter six, it mentions that the "daughters of men" bore children to "the sons of God" and that "there were giants in those days", and that those were "the mighty men who were of old, men of renown". My Holy Bible has a footnote that says the Greek word used here was nephillim, not giants. In ancient Greek mythology, nephillim were the offspring of a deity and a human. Who are the daughters of men, and who are the sons of God in this context? Was the word nephillim really used? If so, was using the word nephillim a mistake by the translator, and if so, why didn't the Lord prevent it, like he did with Simon the Elder
• Since the apostolic fathers knew the story of Enoch through tradition, did it get passed down to us as well? If not, can we try to find the story that is currently passed down through Jewish traditions?
• Upon further research and speech with that Ethiopian member, I found out that the Ethiopians claim that they are the true heritage of Israel, as Queen Sheba bore a child to Solomon and that child was chosen by Solomon to be his heir. They claim he gave the child the Ark of the Covenant, and that they still have it in Ethiopia. How can this be, when God did not bear the thought of his people even mingling with gentiles? Does our church even recognize this story to be true? If so, does the Ark of the Covenant still bear a significant value, since we now have the New Testament (i.e., the New Covenant with God)?
