What is the church's view on older women (50/60 years old) having IVF?

In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) requires extensive spiritual, medical, and psychological advice. There are associated risks and responsibilities that need to be discussed to ensure the couple is spiritually and medically capable of assuming. The main stance the church will take on this issue is that the components of the fertilization must be from the married couple. Other embryos cannot be destroyed or received by or donated to individuals outside the marriage. As women exceed the age of 35, 38, 40, medical risks increase for the mother and the child. It is unlikely that women between the ages of 50-60 will pursue this procedure. If a woman is at this age, the husband is probably of the same age or even older. Because of so many factors discussed and not mentioned, such couple will most likely be counseled against IVF.
