Are skydiving and extreme sports (e.g. racing, rock/mountain climbing) considered a sin?

These activities are not in themselves considered sin, but defiance and recklessness are. If the participant in these sports exercises wisdom by adhering to the recommended precautions, then there is no problem. However, if the participant defies the regulations and does according to the individual's own will, then there is a deeper problem of defiance that is not necessarily related to the sport, but to the person's character.
