Q&A Home > C > Christianity After the Catholic scandals with the priests, how can Christians still continue to receive instruction from the clergy, especially in regard to morals? The Holy Bible says, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first" (Jn 8:7). We are not to blame Christianity as a whole for the sin of some weak souls. This is not to be taken as defending the priests who have sinned. We should judge their act not their persons. Is it right to say we should not trust any president of the US because one of its presidents committed adultery? To generalize or to judge the whole for the act of the part is not the teaching of the Holy Bible; nor is it the ethics of the human race.
