Is it alright to go on trips to beaches with members of the opposite sex? If not, why?

Going to beaches and playing games like volleyball or other beach related sports is not wrong. But going to the beach, in inappropriate swimsuits, bathing in the sun or going swimming is again like dancing where temptation is great. St. Paul teaches us, "Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart" (2 Tim 2:22).
