Who is responsible for the Sunday School Program, the senior Sunday School teacher or the priest? If the senior Sunday School teacher is responsible, is he solely guided by the church priest?

Sunday School should be the responsibility of a capable and knowledgeable Sunday School coordinator under the guidance of the priest. A Sunday School coordinator is the "servant of the servants" and not a senior teacher. He should be serving under the guidance of the priest and willing to listen to suggestions from other servants and church members with the same goal of benefiting  our children. Remember the words of St. Paul "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism" (Ephesians 4:1-5).

The priest must encourage leadership within the church for the church to be strong and to grow spiritually. Guiding and not controlling is the key to a successful program.

Choosing a qualified servant to be the Sunday School Coordinator is as important as choosing a person to be ordained a priest. If I understand the role of the Sunday school Coordinator correctly he is really the one responsible for the future generation of the church and by that, the future of the church after the priest.
