Is it wrong to ask God to take my life?

It is wrong to ask God to take away one's life. This is not a request anyone should make. You did not ask God to give you life, and you should not ask Him to take it away. Life is a precious gift from God. Regardless of the many struggles and tribulations, God is with you and will never leave you. He has given you life and a mission to fulfill in life. When St. Paul said the following passage, it was not because he desired that God should take away his life, but he was expressing that his yearning to be with Christ was very powerful. "For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again" (Philippians 1:23-26). Though St. Paul had infirmities, which were not healed, and he was subject to much humiliation, hardships, imprisonment, and eventually martyrdom, he revealed that he was most confident in fulfilling his mission by bringing others to the knowledge and faith of Jesus Christ.

"And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).

Pray, be thankful, and trust in God.
