Many of the servants who serve with me at church and who are good friends of mine go to parties, drink, and may have girl friends. I am deeply concerned about them. How can I help them improve their spiritual life?

It saddens me to hear that servants in the church behave this way and probably teach otherwise. Satan is very clever and knows that tempting servants is the best way to work against God; because if they fall into temptation they could also bring down with them many of whom they serve and those who look up to them as role models.

To watch them and say nothing is wrong for this would give them the impression that you approve of what they are doing or at least you do not mind the way they live. In a way, you would be a silent partner in their sin.

You know the teachings of the Holy Bible and you believe that what they are doing is wrong so you have to speak up even if you risk the chance of losing them as friends. God told Ezekiel the prophet, "So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you shall surely die!' and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul" (Ezek 33:7-9). God did not guarantee to Ezekiel that if he speaks people will listen. They have the free will to choose to listen or refuse. As for Ezekiel if he does not relay the message he will be held responsible for their sin. You have to talk to them even if you are sure they will not listen "You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious" (Ezek 2:7).

Since they are servants, they stand a big chance to hear about a life of purity and godliness. Suggest to your priest organizing a spiritual day for the servants in order to talk about these vital spiritual topics without mentioning names or pointing fingers.

Remember them in your daily prayers that the Lord may open their eyes and save them from the snares of the devil.
