How do we get realistic in our church serving? I do not feel we are in touch with our students’ inner psychological world of worries about school, studying, and so on. All we tell them is to pray, read the bible, and so forth. Can our spiritual fathers give better help than just words?

Most children  long for someone who would listen to them and make them feel special; someone whom they can trust and open up to.. Depending on their age, you might find that, the younger the children are  the more worried they are about school, friends and daily life and but not so much about their spiritual life. This changes as they grow older and start to understand the importance of spirituality in their daily life. The confessor father is of course the best one to fulfill this role. However, part of the role of a servant is also to listen to the children and give them advice without getting too involved in their personal life. To be able to listen to children talk about their problems and to have them open up to you is a gift from the Lord. It is a blessing to act like a big brother or sister to the young ones. guide them, encourage them to pray, read the Holy Bible, go more often for confession, and get the advice of their confessor father.
