Q&A Home > S > Service 911 EMERGENCY CALL: Our youth need immediate help. Not all priests are blessed with the gift of communication with youth, and consequently, the youth seek entertainment or answers outside of our church, consisting of males and females. Additionally, our youth need English speaking American raised role models considering the huge gap between our American youth and those raised in Egypt. There is a huge cultural gap which prohibits communication. Our servants do not understand the American lifestyle and cannot mentor our youth, which leads to spiritual famine, or even spiritual death. HELP PLEASE!!! Each servant must take responsibility for the service in which s/he is entrusted. An American or an Egyptian accent is not the measuring line of the effectiveness of a servant. The key to having strong servants for the future is to enrich and enliven a well balanced Sunday school program from the ground up to a well prepared Servants' Preparation Program and finally to a Servants' Circle. There are many conventions and spiritual programs for our Coptic youth throughout the states, not only in our Diocese, but all over North America and the world. The servants that have the know-how, should encourage the youth to participate in many of these annual programs. There are certain qualifications for priests and even servants in general. Servants need to be teachable and always seek opportunities for personal spiritual growth and maturity. This cannot be imposed, but if one truly wants to make a difference, s/he must first begin with her/himself and be a catalyst for progress.
"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:1-6).
