• How do I convince my friends that having a girl friend is not an essential, if not a wrong thing? Their excuse is that having a girl friend provides one with experience, and also helps me decide if I really want to consecrate my life to God.
• I am writing a paper on purity. I was wondering where I could find examples in the Holy Bible; and I would appreciate it if Your Grace can give me some ideas.
• I have heard my Sunday School students, Grades 5 and 6, talk about dating exchanging notes concerning who they like describing them as being 'sexy" and other such similar words. I would like to talk to them about purity and holiness, but I am afraid they might think that I am just being conservative or old-fashioned. They might be convinced that this is some sort of a cultural and not a Christian issue. Also, they might argue that they aren't doing anything wrong. or that they might be too shy to even open up. The problem is that some of them are involved with their school friends and fear of being left out forces them to participate in topics that their school friends are talking about. What do you think would be the most suitable approach for this situation?
• I wanted to ask you for some guidance. Right now, at 22 years old, I am reflecting on so many of the mistakes I had made growing up. I had led a life of horrid sin, and sold myself out for a while. I wasn't as strong as I wanted to be. Now, I want to focus all of my energy on repenting for these sins and rebuilding the character that I know is true of me. After falling into the traps of the devil, I need to unleash myself from the guilt and misery attached to my sins. I have confessed to Abouna, who has advised me to fast, pray, take communion, read the Holy Bible, and I am trying to do all of these things. But I want to be able to do more for myself. I am determined and faithful and I will not allow myself to become wrought with despair. Can you offer specific readings that I may find helpful?
