Could you please explain the concept of predestination from a biblical point of view?

The term 'predestination' means determined beforehand. Some people use this term to claim that man does not have a free will. To understand this term better we need to understand that God created Adam and Eve and gave them the freedom of choice.

God commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge Adam by his free will chose to disobey God and ate from the tree.

Unlike us, God is above time and not constrained by it since he has created it. There is no past, nor future for Him for everything is present. He is the “I am”. Being omniscient,(all knowing), He knows everything even before it happens. Therefore, He knows beforehand what our present and future choices in life will be. They are present before Him right now. This foreknowledge does not interfere with our freedom.  

In our daily life we do make choices. It is up to us to follow God's path or to live in sin, away from Him. The Holy Bible shows us on many occasions how God emphasize that it is our choice to obey and accept Him and that if we do He will bless us, be our God and we will be His children;

"If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you" (Ex 15:26).

"Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine" (Ex 19:5).

"But this is what I commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you'" (Jer 7:23).

"But he who endures to the end shall be saved" (Mt 24:13).

"But Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end" (Heb 3:6).
