> Original Sin
There are 7 questions in this category.
Concerning Original Sin, I have read two books from the church resources that seem contradictory. The first one is in the Soteriology course material. The church takes the stand in the inheritance of the fallen nature only, not the actual sin of Adam; while in the CREED, it states, ''we believe in one baptism for the “remission of sins.” Which sins are these? Even H.H. also comments in this the same in his book about the creed. Could you give me clarification?
Ezekiel 18:19-32 talks about how we do not carry over our parent's sins. Does this conflict with the idea of inheriting original sin?
In the Holy Book of Romans 5:12 "
Just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned
" proves that death is because of our free choice to sin not because we inherited Adam's sin. Therefore, why then should we believe that original sin passed down from Adam to us, and why would there be a need for infant baptism?
What is Original Sin? If you have sermon about it, please can you send?
When we refer to Adam's sin, are we referring to Adam and Eve's disobedience, or is sin primarily passed down through Adam alone? Do we also carry our father's sins and our father's father's sin all the way to Adam? Isn’t it just guilt that we carry from Adam’s sin?
Why does the whole human race, especially women, have to pay the price of Adam’s sin (eating from the apple tree) and be subjected to pain, labor and hardships?
"
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me
"(Psalm 50). Could you please explain this verse and whether because of our corrupt nature we need baptism.
