Q&A Home > M > Music/Music Notes Although musical instruments are mentioned in the Holy Book of Psalm 150 and the Holy Book of Rev 5:8, it is often said that musical instruments are not to be used in the New Testament. Is this restricted to liturgical worship or does it cover sermons and presentations as well. I see that instruments are used in the Cathedral before His Holiness Wednesday's lecture. During liturgical worship the use of musical instruments is limited to the cymbals and the triangle. During a church celebration, on special occasions such as the feast of a saint or a visit of His Holiness the Pope or a bishop it is common to have a choir with accompanying music.
