How does one stay continually motivated in service?

The secret of motivation and strength in service lies in regular spiritual prayers.
In the early church, service was accomplished through prayers, "So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed" (Acts 19:20). All problems were solved through the regular exercise of spiritual prayers.

The fundamentals of faith were made steadfast through spiritual prayers. Miracles were performed through  prayers. Those against the teachings of the church were defeated by prayers.

How did the disciples maintain their motivation and strength when all sides attacked them? They all prayed with one spirit saying, "And now Lord, behold their threatening, and grant unto your servants that with all boldness they may speak Thy Word" (Acts 4:29).

The result of their prayers was "that the place where they were assembled together was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and they spoke the Word of God with boldness" (Acts 4:31).

Furthermore, a faithful servant does not cease to pray for those whom he serves. Also he urges them to pray for him and his service.

"For this cause, I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ that He would grant you, according to the riches of His Glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith" (Ephesians 3:14-17).
