Why did God take everything from Job except his wife?

God must have had a reason for this. "And the LORD God said, 'It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him'" (Gen 2:18). Although this had not been the case with Job's wife; a wife's role is to stand by her husband, especially in time of trouble, to comfort and encourage him. The Holy Bible describes a virtuous wife saying, "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness" (Prov 31:26). As a matter of fact, it was probably Job's most severe trial to see his own helper and life partner  reproaching him for their tremendous losses and asking him to "Curse God and die" (Job 2:9).
