How are we to communicate with the saints? How do we identify the saint appointed by God to watch over us?

God does not appoint saints but angels to watch over us. It is up to each one of us to choose a saint we feel contented to communicate with. This is not a matter of procedure but an internal feeling. We should read about the life of saints and find one or more than one that deeply affect us, learn more and more about this saint and ask his or her intercession.  However, our relationship with the saints is not to replace our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, but it should support and complement it.

As it is the case, when we pray to our heavenly Father, we ask to hear Him, and then we dedicate some quit time after prayer to listen to the voice of Christ in our hearts; so it should be the same with our patron saint.
