In Matthew 10:5,6, why did our Lord Jesus Christ ask His disciples not to go or preach to the Gentiles or the Samaritans; but only to the Jews?

Our Lord intended that the first offer of salvation be made to the Jewish people. The Gentiles must not have the Gospel brought to them, till after the Jews have first refused it. The Samaritans had afterwards the Gospel preached to them by our Lord Christ Himself (John 4). Our Lord put this restraint upon the apostles only in their first mission. After His resurrection they were appointed to go into all the world, and teach all nations.
